gadabout-compartmentsToday was a delightful day. It was spent, treasure hunting with a dear friend. A good cinnamon bun, a great cup of coffee and 3 hours spent digging through boxes, poking through racks and exploring drawers… heaven.

If you are ever on Queen Street East in Toronto and have, quite literally, a day to spend, be sure to visit Gadabout Vintage! It’s fabulous, unless you are an obsessive neat freak or suffer from claustrophobia, in which case I wouldn’t recommend it.

I came home exhausted and inspired, but looking forward to a day in the studio tomorrow. Packages have been arriving almost daily, containing treasures and supplies from every corner. Each little key, gear and bulb comes to my door like a cast away little orphan, looking for a new life.

As time permits, I will be listing more items this week in my shop. There are some nice lockets, earrings and monocle necklaces, some lovely “perfect for Mum” items as well!

Cheers to Spring! I can finally leave the house without a winter coat…I’m not quite ready to ditch the scarf yet…all in due time.

What are you afraid of? by Darla Jackson

alfalfalovesme-what-are-you-afraid-of

Two of my very favorite things, ravens and bunnies!

I am absolutely in love with Darla Jackson’s sculptures. She manages to create pieces that are just the right balance of beautiful, creepy,  bizarre and wonderful, a very hard combination to master…but really, who doesn’t love a crow in a party hat?!

If you are in Philadelphia, PA in the next few months, be sure to stop in and see her work in person, a listing of her current exhibits can be found on her website and you can follow her creative explorations on her Blog.

Darla’s beautiful pieces are available for sale on her Etsy shop, Alfalfa Loves Me.

Happy Easter all, eat an egg for me!
