“Opening July 26th and held the last Sunday of every month thereafter, Portobello East will be held at the Fermenting Cellar in the trendy Distillery District. Portobello East showcases only the hottest Canadian designers and artisans. With over 80 designers on show each month, any fashionista or art aficionado can find something to suit their unique style.”

The WychCraft Market operates from May 23rd to the last weekend in October, every Saturday, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, in Toronto, on the lawn of St. Michael & All Angels Church, at 611 St Clair Avenue West on the south side, at Wychwood Avenue.

Well, to be honest, this is more of creative/challenge-giveaway.
Ah, the world of Captain Nemo, 20,000 leagues under the sea. Among the kelp and barnacle encrusted rocks, are the ruins of great schooners, clippers and windjammers. Underwater cities built from forgotten civilizations, fallen to weather and waves. And heaps of fantastic treasure!
This Summer I am crafting a line of undersea jewelry and I am inviting you all to participate in a creative challenge:
CREATE A PIECE OF SUNKEN TREASURE ART.
-Any medium is welcome: photography, collage, paint, felt, paper, go nuts- the world is your oyster!
-Any size is welcome: large to micro.
-You must incorporate at least 2 of the colours pictured bellow, all 4 would be great!
Email a picture of your work to curiousoddities@gmail.com with the subject header: Sunken Treasure
Out of the submissions, I will randomly draw a winner to receive a solid antiqued-brass sand dollar necklace from my new collection…

May is already a flurry of activity. I have been busy designing the new Curious Oddities website (it should be up by the end of the week) while creating new necklaces and juggling the tail end of my floral obligations (today being the last of the Spring/Summer holidays). All the while, battling a stubborn cold…and no, it’s not Swine Flu!
I just wanted to let you all know that my first craft show will be May 31st : Creators’ Marketplace (link to the left) I am really excited, it looks like a fabulous bunch of vendors.
I do apologize for not writing more, I have some delightful articles in the works, but I’ve only had the morning streetcar commute in which to jot down ideas.
Oh, and I almost forgot, I have a little contest in mind for a Summer necklace giveaway, so stay tuned for the details!
